Building Specialties, Inc

Building Specialties, Inc. is one of the oldest and largest insulation contractors in southeast Texas. Established July 1, 1951 by James V. Descant Sr.. The company began, as a residential insulation company, installing batt and blown insulation in new homes in Sharpstown, Oak Forest, Glen Brook Valley and various other developing communities. 

  In the late fifties and early sixties Building Specialties, Inc. expanded to include air conditioning, duct and pipe, and plumbing insulation for Houston's major mechanical and plumbing contractors. The company continued to grow in the seventies and eighties. New products such as spray-on K-13 and spray-on fireproofing were added to our growing list of products. The major portion of work was directed towards commercial insulation for schools, universities, hospitals, and high rise office buildings while still holding on to our roots, residential batt and blown insulation. 

  Today Building Specialties, Inc. remains one of the leaders in commercial insulation in the state of Texas with projects in Houston, Beaumont, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Brownsville, and Laredo.
